This and That . . .
OK - it's cold here. And it snowed so much that I had to use the snow blower twice in a 12-hour period. And unfortunately, on the second go-round, I hurt my back. :-S This is bothersome because I have two disks in my lower spine that are ruptured. And I know what not to do . . . and I was in a hurry . . . So - the long story short is: Do NOT use the pull cord to start the snow blower. Use the ELECTRIC STARTER. That's why you got it . . .
Moving on.
So - Knitterary and I shook hands again on continuing our Stash Busting exercise. And not two days later, what do I catch? A Wollmeise update at The Loopy Ewe. Geez. I mean I really caught it - within the first couple of minutes - I could have gotten one in EVERY color there . . . But no . . . and probably a good thing, too :-)
Today was really a pretty fun day. I had a ton of errands to do, but I must be living right, because every single destination was a breeze - I walked in, got what I needed, paid, and loaded up the car - no lines, no crowds ANYWHERE! Yay!
So now, I'm sitting here in my little office, surrounded by boxes and packing material and the detritus of my new toys, which include speakers for my new computer (Finally!!). I got some inexpensive Logitech speakers with a subwoofer. They rock. Hard. I looked for a new camera to replace the hated Kodak Z1015S, but no luck. I'll keep looking.
And I finally got a new cordless phone. I have needed one forever - I had my mom's old cordless, which resembles an old "brick" phone (:-D) but I haven't used it for years. I just keep it around to occasionally plug it in . . . because it was also her answering machine and it has her old answering machine message still on it. And sometimes it's really good to just hear her voice again . . .
Anyway - I got Panasonic phones - well, phone, and two additional handsets. WAY smaller than the old phone on the desk, and really, quite sleek looking! I'm all happy :-D
In other news of the day, I'm on the far turn with my Two Hearts sweater - about halfway through the first sleeve. I'm hopeful to have it done in time to still wear this season.
And in exceptionally exciting news of the day - I'm going to Morocco!!!!! It will be in the late spring, and yes, I have visions in my head of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, the Marrakech Express (yes, I will be riding it :-D), and camel sojourns in the desert. I can hardly wait to go.
It means that I will not be going to SOAR after all this fall, but this opportunity was just too good to pass up! So, I'm in a flurry of planning now - and I love to plan :-D It's always good to have something to plan for.
