Some January Socks

Here they are! My first socks of the new year, they count for the SAM5 KAL. They are made of Lana Grossa Meilenweit 100 Inca. This was actually the second ball of sock yarn that I ever bought! It came from My Sister's Knits, in Beverly. They are for me!

I was a little worried that they might resemble clown barf, but I like them after all, and think of them as my rainbow socks :-)

How can you knit so darn fast? Did you work on these just while on the train? I'm STILL working on the pair of socks I started for Mark in November. I'm close -- on the cuff of the second one done toe-up -- but still have several hours of knitting left on them. If I didn't have a deadline for this darn baby sweater on my needles...

You crack me up. :-D I knit so fast because I've been doing it for so long ;-)

On socks I do knit pretty much just on the train. Remember, my commute includes about 40 minutes of train time, twice a day - on plain stockinette, I can get about an inch or a little more done each way in that amount of time - that's like 2" to 2 1/2" a day. Plus I had to wait at an appointment one day . . . for an hour, that helped. Occasionally I'll work on them at home, but usually I have something else there that needs doing or finishing or practicing . . .

A baby sweater - yes, those do come with deadlines (birthlines, actually ;-)).
