I love watching the amaryllis grow on a daily basis. The photos really show how much they grow in a day. I have mine sitting on the kitchen table in a south window. Mine prefers to bloom later, more towards spring. I've tried growing it to bloom for Christmas because it is so red, but it refuses to bloom other than when it wants to.
I check you blog for amaryllis updates. I'm excited to see it's progress. I had a red one many years ago and enjoyed watching it pop out of the soil and come to life. I loved the blooms that eventually blossomed on it.
In the past, my house has not been good for plants to live in thanks to my cats. I have two mini Umbrella plants I keep in a wicker plant stand and they leave them alone. Anything else has been knocked over, paw punched, or bitten. Luckily, no one got sick. Hmm. Now the cats are 10 years old maybe I can add a plant again. Any suggestions?
